Copycat

A study in imitation and learning. I recreated photographer Oleg Savunov’s compositions: framing, timing, and subject matter. Combination of images taken exactly 12 hours apart. The exercise ultimately revealed that copying teaches you what you can’t copy, the thousands of unseen decisions behind a single frame.
